Tube laser cutting produces cutouts that match your CAD model exactly, so parts fit the first time. Slots, notches, copes and complex intersections are cut in the same operation, which removes hand notching from the build entirely.
We etch keys and part numbers directly into the tube. On a large weldment that is the difference between an assembly that self-locates and one that needs a fixture and a print at every joint — parts cut and labelled by the machine go together far faster and with fewer errors.
We accept 3D CAD files in Parasolid (.x_t), STEP and IGES formats. A 3D solid model is required — 2D drawings alone cannot drive the tube laser.
Profiles must fit inside an 8.5 inch circle. Round tube up to 8.5 inch outside diameter, square up to 6 x 6 inch, and rectangle, angle and C-channel so long as the profile fits the 8.5 inch envelope. Maximum length is 24 feet.
Steel up to 0.5 inch wall. Aluminum and stainless up to 0.25 inch on round profiles and 0.1875 inch on square profiles.
Model an outside radius of roughly 1.5 times the material thickness. Even sharp-corner aluminum tube needs at least a 0.02 inch outside radius to cut and fit correctly.
